My name is Annie Clara Brown. My skills and areas of expertise includes providing psychotherapy for adults suffering from Depression, Anxiety, Bi-poplar, and other Mental Illnesses. Prior to moving into the Mental Health Field my work included providing emotional support and grief support to patients and their families as a Hospice Social Worker. My professional title is Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, where one of my qualifications is individualized psycho-therapy for each patient using Individual Therapy and Cognitive Behavior Therapy. I received my Masters in Social Work from the University of Alabama with a Concentration in children, adolescents, and families. My greatest desire is to provide psycho-education and therapy to the mentally ill and help them with coping strategies to feel better for longer periods between relapses. It is rewarding to be used as a helper to provide compassionate care for those who suffer stigma from society because of the lack of education and understanding about mental illness. I am passionate about serving my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and my church (Joyful Noise A.O.H. Church of God in Sylacauga, Alabama) where I serve as a licensed minister and secretary under Bishop Johnnie L. Woods Jr. I am definitely family oriented and enjoy spending quality time with my children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. My hobbies are reading, writing, and cooking.
